Hi —
My name is Doug Neeb and I am SquintEye Photo!!
I started shooting pictures for my high school yearbook almost 50 years ago. I bought my first camera, a Nikon Nikkormat, on layaway. A couple of years after that, in 1977, I bought a Canon AE-1 and have been a "Canon shooter" ever since. I still have that camera, although I am not sure I know how to work it anymore!
There was a pretty long hiatus until I started shooting again as my kids started their athletic "careers". I was still shooting film and still using that Canon AE-1. It was an expensive hobby... buying film, developing costs and frankly, not very many good pictures from each roll of film.
AND THEN CAME DIGITAL!!!
I started shooting HS sports in Kansas City and kept at it for 18+ years. Turned into a nice little side hustle business....football, basketball, softball, volleyball…sidelines everywhere!! Now I am a retired lawyer (or maybe it's better to say I am a recovering lawyer) and I am shooting as often as possible. Not really for profit, but mostly for fun (and sometime for profit). Plus I get the best seat in the house!!
I am so fortunate to shoot sports for UNC-Wilmington and the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA). Remarkable athletes and even more remarkable people. All the stupendous men and women that make up college sports programs from SID’s, referees, umpires, security people, broadcasters, statisticians, announcers!! So much fun. And best of all….so many wonderful young men and women whether as athletes, trainers, broadcasters, photographers, videographers, interns, concessionaires, ushers or fans. Home and away!! UNC-W and the CAA have led to opportunities with several other universities and colleges. And, I cannot leave out all the other talented photographers (pros, amateurs, students, interns) that I have have met and shamlessly stolen technique and ideas from whenever possible. I am so grateful.
Concerts, airshows, travel, athletes from a bunch of sports…I shoot it all!!
So…..
Hope you enjoy the shots below as a sampling of my work through the years.
AND (almost forgot the “soft pitch”)
If you want one or more of the files for your own personal use, use the “CONTACT” link at the bottom of this page and throughout the website or text me at the phone number on the card at the top of this and every page. I am sure we can work something out. I am not saying free — although that is my intention when it comes to digital files for athletes and their families —- but also not expensive for files or prints.
Cheers,
Doug
